Together with Orcas AutoTech and Crescent Service, NAPA will be holding a free vehicle inspection for anyone on the island. This is part of the National Car Care Awareness, traditionally held in April and October. This is the second year the trio has provided the inspection as a community service project. Participants will also receive a Car Council maintenance manual.

Perry Pugh owner of NAPA, knows how lax owners are about checking regular maintenance on their vehicles. Last year’s inspection found safety problems on a number of vehicles, including tire tread, brakes,  hoses & belts, and low fluid levels.  The Car Council provides inspection forms that cover items front to back. Crescent Service and Orcas AutoTech, branded NAPA Autocare centers will provide technical knowledge for doing the inspections. Also, members from the Orcas Road Classic Club will be volunteering to help with parts of the safety items like lights, horns, and wipers.

The inspection will be from 9 to 3:30 p.m. at the NAPA store on Mt. Baker Road, Saturday, Nov 5. Reservations can be made at 376-4901.
