We’re excited to kick off our 3rd season with an all-star line up lead by the young bass player Stanley Ruvinov on Thursday through Saturday, June 29 – July 1, from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Like in the past, the concerts are sponsored by Wild Island restaurant and Free to all, contributions to the tip jar are highly appreciated. You’re welcome to bring your blanket or lawn chair, too. Click the link to view the full season calendar.
Stanley Ruvinov who recently earned his masters degree from Temple University is already a well respected sideman and band leader. Starting to merge into Seattle’s jazz scene at the early age of 15 he’s playing professionally in many bands performing throughout the US. Jay Thomas, Seattle jazz legend who’s also been touring and recording in Japan the past thirty years. Dan Markus who toured with Ray Charles and Woody Herman to name a few. Blake Angelos with Bellingham’s Julian McDonough band and Julian himself who most recently toured with Devon Lamar through the US and Europe.
And, yours truly…come and enjoy three days of celebrating the music of Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, Horace Silver and Originals in a full sextet setting.

No comment on the music, but the large logo sign on their outdoor “stage” is an advertisement and violates the county sign ordinance.
Comment on the music: Ollie, you bring it–Thank you Oliver Groenwald, Wendy Thomas & Wild Island!
