— from Washington State Ferries —
Due to a problem with the number two engine on the M/V Samish, the Anacortes/San Juan Islands/Sidney, BC route is operating on a four-boat emergency schedule until another vessel can join the route and restore it to a full five-boat capacity. See the alternative schedule HERE.
Sailing times have been adjusted to prioritize domestic travel in the San Juan Islands, canceling the morning international sailings to and from Sidney, British Columbia. For domestic travelers, customers with existing reservations will get priority on a first-come, first-served basis each day. Reservation holders who choose not to travel will not be charged a no-show fee and don’t need to cancel their reservation.
For those international travelers booked on the morning sailing to Sidney, your reservations will be honored on the afternoon sailing at 2:50 pm. As an alternative, you may also travel with BC Ferries, which has early morning sailings available from the Vancouver area to Sidney (Swartz Bay) or Nanaimo. Visit www.bcferries.com or call 1-888-BC-FERRY.
WSF reservations from Anacortes to Sidney can be canceled at any time without incurring a no-show fee by visiting www.takeaferry.com or by calling 1-888-808-7977.
WSF is not accepting new vehicle reservations at this time, though there is a limited amount of vehicle stand-by space on every sailing. Please plan to arrive at the terminal early and consider walking on to the ferry.
We apologize for the inconvenience this causes and thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore full service on this route.
