“We just got word that Mallard died,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Bill Varnum. “We’re assuming there’s two other deaths we haven’t discovered yet. The nation’s on full alert. We’re under some kind of attack.”

Michael Sky, author of Jubilee Day and other books available at Darvill's Bookstore

In an interview before his death last May, Michael Sky said about the impetus behind Jubilee Day:  “It’s up to the rich to pay attention and rectify the mistakes,” and credits Pillsbury heir Chuck Collins, William Gates, Sr. and Warren Buffet as role models. “It’s up to them to wake up and do the right thing.”

Michael admits that his novel is partly didactic: “I tiptoe right to the edge of polemic in the story of Jubilee Day, but I feel I pulled the story off.” He speaks forcefully about his views of the enormous, and growing, disparity between the unregulated wealthy and the poor and “the intolerable stress that disparity causes on our society.”

Copies of Jubilee Day will be on hand for purchase, at 10 percent off suggested retail price.

This promises to be an unforgettable event. Don’t miss it.
