How about some names, including some biographical info on the proposed candidates so we can formulate some questions before the meeting?
Orcas Issues made attempts to obtain further information on the final three Fire Chief candidates. That information is not being released publicly by the OIFR Search Committee prior to the meet and greet on Friday.
I must echo the very reasonable request made by Justin for more information regarding the candidates. It is common practice to publicly announce the names and backgrounds of finalists for the position of fire chief. I am confident that the search committee conducted a thorough and thoughtful process providing us with very capable candidates. However, I do believe, because of how important this decision is to the Orcas community, we should have the opportunity to ask well informed questions come this Friday.
I to would like to know why we (the Tax payer) are left out of the loop. Does the Fire Department really want our input? Believe it nor not, there are some folks on Orcas Island that do not want to drive at night.
