The evening of May 1st, Orcas Islanders will celebrate the coming of summer at Inn at Ship Bay. Orcas Montessori School is hosting its annual auction and party, complete with live music, great food, and fine wine.
The party starts at 6pm with local musicians Mary Giampietro and Renae Keep on ukulele and fiddle. Guests will enjoy hearty hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chefs Geddes Martin and Everett Brooks. A wide variety of silent auction items will be displayed for bidding throughout the room.
The musical entertainment will continue into the evening with The Olga Symphony. A live auction will commence at eight.
All proceeds from the evening will support Orcas Montessori School. For children ages two and a half to six, Orcas Montessori School uses the world renowned Montessori method to promote development, initiative and a love of learning. The school relies on fundraising events like our May Day auction in order to keep tuition affordable and to provide scholarships for those who need financial assistance.
Tickets for the May Day party are on sale now at Darvill’s Bookstore, Ray’s Pharmacy and Orcas Montessori School for $20 each. Tickets at the door will be $25. The ticket price includes hors d’oeuvres and the first glass of Tin Barn wine, or beer. Due to limited parking, guests are respectfully encouraged to carpool to the event.
