Adult ceramics classes will be taught Wednesday evenings beginning January 6 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Aesthetica, on Main Street in Eastsound. Students will receive basic and advanced instruction in hand building techniques. No previous experience is necessary, just the desire to learn and have fun. All pieces will be fired and glazed. The size of the class is limited to five students, so each student gets personal attention. The cost is $100 for 4 classes plus a $15 materials and firing fee. At a new series of Children’s Art Classes, students will experiment with several mediums including, clay, drawing and weaving. The class begins Jan. 6 and runs on Wednesdays from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. and on Thursdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Aesthetica for children aged 7 to 12.
Attention will be paid to design elements and techniques used as long as suggestions don’t inhibit the students’ natural creative spirit and fun.
