See what we have in store for the summer – More details coming soon!
Bobby Bare Jr. and Lilo Sanchez
Friday, June 18 at 6 p.m. on the Village Green
Bobby Bare Jr. could’ve phoned in a career. He could’ve exploited the fact that he’s the son of iconic Country Music Hall of Famer Bobby Bare, was born into Nashville’s Music Row elite, and counted artists like Shel Silverstein as close family friends and George Jones and Tammy Wynette as next door neighbors. Instead, Bobby blazed a path of unique songwriting craftsmanship with a voice that blows through you like an unyielding wind on the desolate prairie.
With a big-as-the-room persona, an ability to rock the doors off the most jaded of clubs, the heart to hold a room completely still with just his guitar, and a genius for arrangement, Bobby Bare, Jr. and his band of merrymakers are one of the most unique bunches around. They are adept at abandoning common sense in favor of laying themselves at the feet of a rambunctious, freewheeling, and unfettered and unhinged muse.
Orcas based/Panamanian artist and producer Lilo Sanchez, whose musical career spans more than 20 years is best known for his work with the celebrated Panamanian band, Señor Loop. He now shares with us his solo work which combines that mysterious Latin flavor with haunting melodies, bluesy rock and R&B sounds. Stranger in Your Town is a retrospective of his solo work interspersed with covers that tap into his vibe and his past year of island living!
Third World United (3WU)
Saturday, June 19 at 6 p.m. on the Village Green
Presented in collaboration with SAMA (Seattle Sacred Music and Art) 3WU, a musical collective with roots in Islam, features some of the region’s most talented artists and performers primarily focuses on all-vocal production, what some fans call “A Capella 2.0.”
Passion for creative collaboration and keen, authentic perspectives distinguish this homegrown musical collective with influences from Africa, the Carribean and the Middle East, as well as the United States.
While their families’ stories can in some ways be traced back to Seattle’s “Sanctuary City” designation, what the group brings to the musical table today represents the result of assimilation, buoyed by the heartbeat of the American Dream.
The members’ songs tell the stories that humanize culture and communities, rather than distort and misinform. Along with their role together as a musical collective, 3WU is also an independent record label, community hub and growing international force. The June 19th performance will feature 3UW’s founder, Essam; poet and emcee, Akhi Abu; voice and sample-focused producer, Petty Pro; and the illustrious vocalist, Amina.
Jacob Miller, Stephanie Schneiderman, and Tony Furtado
Sunday, June 27 at 6 p.m. on the Village Green
Three amazing musicians on one special night!
Trying to pin down Stephanie Schneiderman to any one genre, talent or discipline is next to impossible. One thing is clear however- whether pursuing her prolific work as a solo artist, playing drums for all star roots pop act Swan Sovereign (Dirty Martini), producing, acting, or giving back, Schneiderman is hands down one of the most diverse and hardest working artists the NW has to offer.
Tony Furtado is an evocative and soulful singer, a wide-ranging songwriter and a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist adept on banjo, cello-banjo, slide guitar and baritone ukulele who mixes and matches sounds and styles with the flair of a master chef.
With an affinity for minimalist pop and firm roots planted in American traditional music, Jacob Miller crafts a timeless sound unique to his voice, style and abilities. In 2020, Miller was also a featured performer on NBC’s The Voice; working with Nick Jonas and James Taylor.
