Awards were made to islanders on Lopez, Orcas, and San Juan Island, after review by a scholarship selection committee comprised of Mike Ahrenius, Jensen’s Marina/Port of Friday Harbor Commissioner; Jennifer Meng, Islands Marine Center; and Betsy Wareham, West Sound Marina.

Recipients included: Christopher Caldwell, Lopez; Dale Downs, San Juan; Christian Falls, San Juan; Hans Hellman, Lopez; James McCormick, San Juan; Kyle Prescott, San Juan; Jason Schible, San Juan; Brandon Soland, San Juan; Jacob White, Orcas.

The scholarships were funded by the Rural Business Enterprise (RBE) program of the USDA, through a grant given to the San Juan County Economic Development Council.
