The San Juan Marine Resources Committee will meet from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1 in Friday Harbor.
At this meeting, a presentation will be given by Anne Beaudreau, a researcher who will share her plans for a post doctoral research project to improve understanding of how rock fish populations and fishing opportunities have changed over the past 50 years.
Shireene Hale, long range planner for the County, will discuss updates for the critical areas ordinance and the water section of the comprehensive land use plan.
The MRC will discuss recommendations to address the environmental impacts of desalinization plants that will be provided to the County in partnership with the Water Resources Management Committee.
The San Juan Marine Resources Committee welcomes all members of the public to attend its meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at the Islanders Bank Annex located at 545 Park Street in Friday Harbor. Meeting minutes are posted on the website: www.sjcmrc.org.
