An all-Bach concert will be performed at Orcas Center on December 6 and 7 featuring the Orcas Choral Society.  The two concerts will be the culmination of a week of collaborative activities involving the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival, the Orcas Boy Choir and the Turtleback Brass ensemble.  The 50-voice choir will be accompanied by a 20-piece orchestra which includes many talented local instrumentalists.

Baritone Philip Cutlip, as Musician-in-Residence for the Chamber Music Festival, will be a concert soloist through a special arrangement with OICMF.  He has wowed audiences at Orcas Center on several occasions, and while here he will do vocal coaching with the Orcas Boy Choir, and work with our local concert soloists, including Naomi Aldort, Ann Brewer, Pam Evans, Stan Miller, and Lopezian Ginni Keith.  Orcas soprano Sharon Abreu and tenor Wesley Rogers from Seattle complete the soloist line-up.
The tenor and bass sections of the choir will also have the opportunity to work with Mr. Cutlip in their own sectional rehearsals.  The following week he will be acting as OICMF Musician-in-Residence for island  public school, preschools, and community vocalists, and finally, performing in the OICMF Leaves of Gold Concert December 11 and 12.
The Choral Society concerts will be Saturday December 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday December 7 at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $15, and student tickets are $5.
