San Juan County Health & Community Services is pleased to announce the availability of $300,000 in low interest loan funds to help property owners repair and/or replace failing on-site sewage systems. San Juan County applied and received an award for a $300,000 low-interest loan from the State Department of Ecology’s Water Pollution Revolving Fund. The agreement will enable the county to restart a local low-interest loan fund that will provide financial assistance to county property owners to repair and/or replace failing on-site sewage treatment and disposal systems.
San Juan County has successfully administered five previous loan projects between 1991 and 2010. These prior projects provided low-interest loan funds to repair one hundred and eighteen (118) residential and commercial on-site sewage systems countywide. The total amount loaned over the course of the five previous projects was $1,434,405.
To receive information and/or an application for the loan program, contact San Juan County Health & Community Services at 378-4474 or visit the county website at www.sanjuanco.com/health/ehswaste. For specific questions regarding eligibility requirements contact Gary Covington or Mark Tompkins at 378-4474.
