Hank and I celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this week which also marks our 30th on Orcas. Amazing!  I am so very grateful. It has been a lovely ride so far!

We have been granted an extension on the purchase of the Pea Patch Lane property. Closing is now scheduled for August. This gives us time to wrap up the due diligence process. I am deeply grateful to the current tenants who have graciously allowed us to poke and prod their homes for the feasibility studies these past few months.

This weekend is the Pride Celebration on Orcas. It will be held at the Grange this year. There are events both days and nights and the line up looks fabulous. Check out the schedule here.

It is also the OISD High School Graduation- Saturday at 2 in the HS Gym. There will be a slow rolling parade through Eastsound following, likely around 4:30. Congratulations to all Grads and their families.

The Solstice Parade is on Saturday the 24th at high noon. The theme this year is Soil to Sun and all are welcomed to participate. Immediately following the parade the Friends of the Library are hosting a Sasquatch Calling Contest as part of their summer reading program. Prizes will be awarded so you better start practicing!

Finally, Monday is Juneteenth, celebrating the day that enslaved people in Texas learned of the Emancipation Proclamation, six months after it had been enacted. This is the first year it is a State Holiday and the second as a Federal Holiday. The OICF office will be closed.

I hope you have a delightful weekend.
