Start your new year looking into the vast recesses of space with an astrophysicist as your guide. In part three of the lecture series Meeting of the Minds at the Orcas Senior Center, Dr. Kenneth Gibbs will present on the high energy universe.

Dr. Gibbs’ career in astrophysics spanned the range from very-high, through ultra-high to extremely-high energy cosmic rays. He contributed to the design, construction and operation of three of the largest ground-based cosmic ray detectors ever built.

Study exotic celestial objects such as black holes, pulsars, active galaxies, and x-ray binaries at 1 p.m. in the Lundeen Room at the Orcas Senor Center Wednesday January 2.
