Kathryn Thurman, whose new children’s book Garden for Pig has just been published by Kane Miller, will read and sign books in the children’s section of the bookstore on Saturday, August 28 at 3pm.  The story is based on a real pig who lived on Orcas Island, and really did plant a garden!

Thurman is an Orcas writer and artist who loves to garden.  Her writings and paintings have been published in many books, magazines, and newspapers.  This is her first children’s book, which has charming illustrations done by Ohio artist Lindsay Ward.
