The Orcas Island Farmers Market is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting program: Music In The Market 2022! We have been working diligently to fill our Saturday market calendar with talented and beloved local musicians during the day.
From 11:00am to 1:00pm almost every Saturday throughout the season, we are so proud to present performances by local talent. We started off the season with the wonderful Carolyn Cruso, then the treasured Tom Rawson, and most recently had the offerings of Tow Away Zone, and WOW was the response just amazing!
Next up, we have Grace McCune and Joel Gamble on Saturday, May 28. Please come down and enjoy the day! Bring a blanket or a chair, bring the family, and bring an appetite because our food vendors are out of this world.

I went to my first market of 2022 last Saturday. There was a fun low key acoustic group with ukeleles and vocals. What I especially liked is that they weren’t so loudly mic’d with loud speakers blasting – this meant that customers could still easily converse with booth owners and friends and community hear each other speak,. That was brilliant, and is essential for the businesses that rely on the market for their income. I can’t tell you how many craft fairs in which I attended or partook as a vendor, where the music was so loud it stopped the flow of business – which is the point of a farmers market.
Kudos for bringing music to the market in this acoustic, low-key way. I hope they are all like that.. There was a small seating area by the group performing, and an intimate atmosphere of fun and laughter with a small audience enjoying the music. Wonderful atmosphere at the market;; lots of vendors on a beautiful May day.
