Live music sets the soundtrack for an Orcas Island summer. And we are fortunate to have a wide variety of venues and music from which to choose.

Here are regularly scheduled, ongoing events that provide a pleasurable note to an evening or afternoon.

Sundays…

Music in the Park starts at 5:00 p.m. on the Village Green with a talented slate of musicians.

Tuesdays…

Starting at 8:30-ish, local musicians may be joined by a visiting rock or blues musician at The Lower Tavern’s Open Mic.

Wednesdays…

Brown Bag Concerts at Emmanuel Episcopal Church at noon is a long-standing summer event on Orcas, featuring local musicians.

Thursdays…

Doe Bay Cafe hosts Pizza Night & Open Mic, where island visitors and residents share music, spoken word, and other performances.

Fridays…

Starting at about 5:00-ish on a Friday evening, saxophonist Al Bentley is joined be fellow musicians at the No Entry Stage, just outside the door at Darvills Bookstore.

Popular Orcas musicians Gene Niery and Martin Lund can be found, and heard, at the Orcas Hotel, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

Note: Some start times are approximate, reportedly known as Musician Standard Time.
