Who can believe it’s the week before Thanksgiving? As we bustle around in this weekend before Turkey Day, take some time to stop in at the final public event in a month promoting Family Literacy — the Literacy Carnival at the Funhouse. It’s fun and it’s free!
There will be music, puppet shows, book-making, rhyme-making, hat-making, letter-fishing, gingerbread decorating, whiteboard writing and reading aloud among the many activities offered at the Funhouse.
Also, kids can get sticker stamps on their Literacy Month calendars to redeem for a Family Literacy Certificate from the Library. Calendars and stickers will be available at the Carnival.
Orcas Family Connections and the Orcas Island Library sponsor the Family Literacy Month and the Literacy Carnival, with funding from the Orcas Island Community Foundation.
