Finally celebrating its third anniversary after a two-year pandemic hiatus, the Orcas Island Lit Fest returns with an exceptional lineup of writers across a range of genres. This year’s featured artists include National Book Award winner Timothy  Egan, Lambda and Nebula Award winner Nicola Griffith, novelist and New York Public Library Fellow Danzy Senna, and Henry Award and Pen Center Award–winning playwright Octavio Solis.

The festival will kick off Friday night with an open-to-the-public Lit Walk held at multiple venues around the village of Eastsound. June 4 features a full day of panels and readings at the Orcas Island Center for the Performing Arts, along with a book fair in collaboration with Darvill’s Bookstore. The OILF Kids’ Fest, a free community-focused event, will take place Saturday morning at the Orcas Island Library. The festival will also provide a virtual participation option for those who can’t join us in person.

“We are thrilled to be back with such a great  lineup,” said Jule Treneer, president and cofounder of the Orcas Island Lit Fest. “Festival attendees can look forward to a weekend full of engaging  readings, fascinating conversations and amazing  live music. It promises to be our best festival yet.”

Detailed information about this year’s artists and events, as well as a link to purchase tickets, can be found on the festival website: oilf.org. OILF news and updates are also available on our Facebook and Instagram pages and by signing up for our newsletter.
