Kathi Ciskowski and Polly Sanford will lead a 3-day workshop

Join facilitators Polly Sanford and Kathi Ciskowski for “Life Stories: Unraveling Our Own Life’s Journey in the Company of Other Curious Travelers,” a workshop beginning Friday, May 2, 7:30 to 9 pm and ending on Sunday, May 4. The cost is $95.

Each one of us has a life that unfolds in an individual and unique way…and that is what makes us who we are in the world.

As we take the opportunity to look at our journey through time we begin to see, with objectivity and compassion, the rhythms and patterns that not only form us, but also connect us to one another. In studying our own “biography” we develop an awareness of ourselves that affects how we view our families, friends, and co-workers, deepening our relationships with them. This focused activity can awaken our hearts to a new kind of thinking and perceiving, which helps to reveal the cycles and archetypes from the past that can enliven the present while building capacities to meet the future.

The approach to this study will be anchored by teaching each participant how to create a personal Life Chart. Bringing an overview of the phases, rhythms and patterns of life, we will also work with fairy tales (for adults) and various artistic exercises to enliven memories and stories in order to see your own life and that of others as an archetypal journey through time. This is not a writing class but could be helpful to memoir writers.

Polly has completed the Sunbridge College “Biography and Social Arts” program; Kathi received a certificate from the UW “Genealogy and Family History” course and both have studied Life Cycle work with the late Biography researcher Bill Bryant.
