The Orcas Island Library’s February art exhibit will feature a show of paintings by Barbara Welch, entitled Stories of Life.
Barbara came from Poland 20 years ago, and has been painting since childhood. Her mother’s recollections of surviving WWII in a German work camp have deeply influenced Barbara’s artwork, along with her fascination for nature, history, science and the movies.
In Barbara’s own words:
“Each of my paintings has its own story…the story about life and how precious and fragile it is for everyone and everything on this world and beyond it. If you will look at them it will be up to you to find them all.”
