We are voting Yes for school bond. The bond will pay for critically needed repairs to the middle school buildings. The renovation will use materials designed to reduce maintenance costs, and will further reduce operating costs through improved energy efficiency.
Over the past few years, volunteers and staff for the School District have secured numerous grants to fund other necessary repairs. In addition, the School Board has incorporated into this decision the ideas of many frugal and creative islanders. We applaud these efforts to leverage money and ideas from many sources.
