Friends of Moran would like to send an enthusiastic Thank you to the community volunteers all 50 or more of you!
The Annual Spring Clean Up was a great success. Not only did we remove big rocks, rake fine soil, sprinkle grass seed and scatter straw near the new play structure we also finished cleaning up at all three camps. The North, South and Mid-Camp Campgrounds are ready for tents, picnics and campfires. We could not have had this amazing state park so ready for campers and ourselves.
Thank you to the families came and special thanks to the enthusiastic kids who helped finish off their play area. You’ll have to come back and see what grows under the protective layer of straw.
We are grateful to Rusell Barsh, who once again provided a passionate and intelligent look at our park history from a scientific perspective.
Thank you to Karen and Ken Speck for a wonderful warm and delicious lunch! You are the best! We are so grateful that you continue the tradition of providing a hot lunch to all the volunteers.
We’ll look forward to seeing everyone this summer whether it’s at the Summit Shop, Learning Center, Cascade Lake!

How thoughtful of you Michel (and Anna) for your kind words. We love the Park and especially love the fishing, so the lunch is one way we contribute. Thanks to the Friends of Moran State Park and to all the volunteers!
We’re so lucky to have Moran on Orcas.
