Denise Wolf
This is my first full time summer on the island and I have noticed something that concerns me.
There are those who come to visit who seem to view our roads as a Grand Prix with trees.
I have witnessed several near misses when people pass those of us doing a slow 40 in a 35 mph zone and encounter another vehicle coming around one of the blind curves.
I have also seen this occur when a speeding car has unexpectedly encountered one of the many bicyclists who have failed to accurately calculate the amount of energy required to go up one of our hills.
When I have discussed this with other residents they all have a similar story. I am just wondering what we can do to encourage those who come visit to take a deep breath, slow down, and enjoy the view?
Take care,
Denise Wolf
