If you like to cook, love kids, and don’t want a full time job, the public school cafeteria wants you! In light of changes in school funding and the desired incorporation of more nutritious farm-to-cafeteria opportunities into our school breakfast and lunch programs, there is an opening right now for the right person to make a real difference in our school lunch program.
The Orca Island Public School is taking applications for a part time kitchen chef/cook to help create menus, incorporate more local food opportunities into fresh breakfasts and lunches served in the school cafeteria, and prepare more nutritious, appealing and creative meals for our kids. I would like to encourage anyone who feels this is right up their alley to call the superintendent’s office at 2284 or drop by and fill out an application before August 14th. I know you’re out there!
