Katie Morris of Santa Rosa, Calif. is in search of family ancestors who lived on Orcas Island.
Whaling Captains, brothers Abel and Albert Douglass in the area from the 1860s.
Sister Mary’s family, second husband Hiram Crandall and children; George H. Derby, Gibson Derby and Belle Crandall lived on Orcas Island.
Belle married Julius Coppersmith, Orcas Island, their daughter, Martha. Gibson and E. Worlds have a son in 1898. George Derby is 57 on the 1910 census, Orcas Island.
What happened to Martha Coppersmith, Gibson’s family, and George? ( My line of sister, Martha Douglass/Tupper in Sonoma County, California )
Anyone now living on – or – knows about the Derby/Crandall/Coppersmith place(s)? Or remembers the family, pictures, letters, ect., I would love to hear from you.
