I have been a Pediatric RN for over 40 years. I teach nurses 12 days a year for Group Health Nursing Operations. It is important to realize that everyone under the age of 50 has no “cultural” or “real” experience with the vaccine-preventable diseases.
I worked in Pediatric ICU and had 2 babies die in my arms from pertussis (whooping cough). I have seen small children die of HIB meningitis. I personally remember the horrors of Measles, and was lucky to survive.
Please be a responsible parent and grandparent and support all children being protected. I have NEVER personally seen any adverse reaction to vaccines. I have worked with tens of thousands of babies.
Look at what happened in Nigeria in 2003! The military coup thought the “vaccines were killing the children.” It took only 3 months for paralytic polio to spread to 13 countries that had been polio free for over 10 years!
