— from Diane Martindale —
Mark March 26th on your calendars now for the Democratic caucuses in San Juan County.
Attention 17 year olds! If you are turning 18 on or before November 8 you CAN participate in the Democratic caucuses.
You can support your candidate and introduce resolutions to go to the county conventions. There are many issues that impact you, such as who will ensure that cost is not a barrier to getting your education, and that debt doesn’t hold anyone back from going to college.
Our next president needs to assure a progressive America and includes continuing to fight for the reforms needed so that hardworking Americans-regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation or socioeconomic background- can get ahead and stay ahead.
Please join us to build a more educated and prosperous USA.
Vote on March 26.

Thank you, Diane Martindale. (I tried to correct my misspelling of your last name, but the form had already sent.) This election is especially important for several reasons. The main one is that the Millennial Generation is now the biggest voting bloc in the country! The Baby Boomer generation (of which I am a part) is no longer the biggest bloc. But young people need to get active – not just in voting but in local affairs. This is the chance to have some major changes informed by young people; their needs, the world they wish to see. The youth will inherit the earth. We have to help support them in taking the reins. Please – young people – vote in the caucus for the candidate of your choice. If you have to work or for some other reason cannot attend the caucus, there is a way to submit something online. Even if you don’t believe in the system, changes start from the bottom up – from local to global.
Hopefully future articles will cover how to vote by proxy, and provide links.
