— from Thom Carnevale —

In the last two week period, the number of cases of COVID-19 in the US has risen by 48%, the number of deaths by 43%. (+140,000 deaths, +3.7 million COVID-19 cases).

Are we beginning to relive March in July, a period when businesses began to close in earnest, hospitals were filling to capacity, refrigerated trucks transported COVID-19 bodies to overwhelmed funeral homes, Americans were hunkered down at home?

As COVID-19 runs rampant in 41 states, the inability of many politicians to grasp the seriousness of the pandemic is quixotic.

Indeed, the fault lies at the feet of inept leadership at the National and Local level.

But, today’s witnesses to history are bedeviled by a Prozac induced stupor; a time when we are coaxed into a pseudo reality saturated by the power elites enthusiasm for justification.

Election Day looms, say goodbye to the stupor and vote like your life depends on it. Vote out those whose desire to placate the status quo is inherent in their political genetic code.

In SJC, a refreshed County Council could well save us from further health and economic misery.

The best, in these unfortunate times—
