Two of the many reasons why we support Kari McVeigh for San Juan County Council: fire and water. Inherently, islands are finite bodies of land surrounded by water, and yet we have a scarce supply of fresh, drinkable water. Kari is in favor of renewing and preserving the Land Bank as it stands because its existence is crucial in conserving as much natural land as possible.
These undeveloped lands protect our precious water resources and mitigate potentially devastating wildfires. Our warming climate calls for serious planning and a strong stand on environmental conservation.
Kari McVeigh is that experienced, considerate planner and tough, impassioned advocate.
