— from Bea vonTobel —

Thank you for your confidence in allowing me to continue serving as a commissioner for the Port of Orcas.

The commissioners, both new and continuing, have a daunting series of tasks ahead, foremost among them regaining the trust of the island. In addition, future implementation of the master plan as approved and hiring an airport manager who will serve both the commission and the island will take time, study, and conversation to successfully complete.

The incoming commissioners need to learn (and apply) the numerous laws and procedures that govern how port districts and airports function; most of all, we all need to figure out how to work together through constructive conversation, and speak with a unified voice to the populace.

Thank you again for your votes, and I encourage attendance at meetings and contact (written or personal) with the commissioners. We will listen and respond.
