— from Anita Orne for Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival —
As the final notes of the 2019 Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival fade away, their echo and our memory of the music sustains us throughout the year. On behalf of Board President Sam Coleman, Founder and Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann, Artistic Advisor Jon Kimura Parker, and the entire OICMF board and staff, I would personally like to thank everyone for making our 22nd Festival Season truly glorious. This magnificent music helps me believe the world is a better place.
OICMF is not just about music, but also relationships, old and new. So many contribute to the operation of the Festival. Each role is vital. From all our amazing volunteers — those who grow and arrange gorgeous flowers everywhere, the chefs who provide incredible, impeccably-presented meals, those who sneak in early in the morning after each day of rehearsals and night of concerts to wash and polish and make all ready for another day and night of the same, those who open their homes to our musicians, to our generous donors and sponsors, our interns, the artists, and so many more: we thank you.
OICMF has grown far beyond Aloysia’s single dream, and far beyond people buying tickets and attending concerts. I look forward to our off-season educational and musical offerings as we build toward next August, our 23rd season. It’s a privilege to bring the music and so much more to our community. OICMF humbly thanks you all.

“The world is a better place with music.” You are so right Anita. I harken back fifty years to Woodstock and the three days of Peace, Love and Music. I miss those days.
As usual fantastic programs and especially the Memorial for Martin. Thank you for this wonderful presentation
