We are very fortunate to have the beautiful lands purchased by our local Conservation Land Bank for all of us to share and enjoy. That’s been made possible by the 1% Real Estate Excise Tax (REET) that was approved by the voters several years ago.
What many people don’t realize is the 0.5 percent affordable housing REET is tied to the Land Bank REET by state law. Continuation of the affordable housing REET requires the continuation of the Land Bank REET. That’s why it’s so important that we renew our Land Bank.
