I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Justin since he moved to Orcas Island in 2003 and partnered with OPAL to build the OPAL office campus and Reddick Apartments.

Justin is passionate about kids, kid’s athletics, affordable housing, and the islands in general, and he puts his passions to work in his personal and professional lives.

Justin is a father, grandfather, foster parent, small business owner, builder, volunteer and public servant. He is a doer and an active problem solver. Justin not only built scores of OPAL homes, but he rolled up his sleeves and helped OPAL figure out how to bring costs down and still deliver a beautiful, quality home for local homebuyers.

After volunteer coaching for years, Justin helped pass the Recreation District and serves as one of its commissioners.

When Justin was frustrated with the sporadic ferry service, he didn’t just complain, he took a deep dive to learn the system and volunteered to serve on the Ferry Advisory Committee while also helping to rally transportation alternatives to help in a pinch.

He is committed to this community and the people who live here. As a County Council member, Justin will put in the work listening, learning, and problem solving to make this a better place for us all.
