For two hours on August 13th Drs. Fleming, Russell, and Buxbaum offered their skills and expertise to help Orcas student-athletes become eligible by offering a free sports physical clinic at OI High School.
With five volunteers ready to help take vitals, paperwork, and general questions, the doctors saw a new patient every 15 minutes and were able to clear 21 students!
Sports physicals are required every two years for all student-athletes competing in Orcas Middle and High School sports–and for some families, this can be a hurdle to participation. Thank you, Drs. Fleming, Russel, and Buxbaum for taking time on a Sunday afternoon to offer your expertise.
