Writing as a former San Juan County Commissioner, we voters are fortunate to have Kari McVeigh willing to serve as the District 1 County Councilmember, representing all the islands. I have not met any candidate as well prepared for this task as Kari.
Kari understands jurisdictional issues. She knows the importance of public process while patiently exploring the complexity of issues with people of diverse perspectives. Kari is not afraid to put in the hard work necessary to meet the challenges of this time. She is a quick study, straight talking, and without guise.
We do not need someone who will bring courtroom drama and litigation. What we do need is a collaborator willing to bring us all together. I will be voting for Kara McVeigh.
