I am proud to wholeheartedly endorse Katherine Bryant Ingman for County Council. At just 34, she brings a rare combination of intelligence, dedication, and deep-rooted commitment to Lopez Island. Katherine is not someone who just simply talks about community – she has consistently shown up and done the work. From her leadership as President of Catherine Washburn Hospital District to running our Food Share, she has stepped into roles that truly matter and delivered with integrity and care.

During the uncertainty of COVID, she worked tirelessly to secure local and regional organic food and organized a volunteer base to ensure the people of our community were supported when it mattered most. That kind of initiative and follow through speaks volumes about her character.

She has also invested in the future of Lopez in very real ways,  as a high school track and field coach, she mentors our youth and as President of the Lopez Island Tennis (and pickleball) Courts Association she strengthens community connection and recreation. Along with her husband, she has put down roots here, and are planning to raise a family on Lopez.

She understands Lopez not just as a place to live, but as a community to care for and protect. Her experience in working with a major statewide foundation who focused on women and those furthest from justice, combined with her experience in local businesses gives her both a broad perspective and a grounded understanding of what our community needs.

We need leaders that are thoughtful, capable, and genuinely invested in the long term health of our island. She is all those things and more. I strongly encourage you to support her campaign with me for County Council #3.
