The purpose of my letter is to strongly endorse the candidacy of Kari McVeigh for County Council Position 1.
I have known Kari for several years and have seen her in both personal and public settings. Her ability to absorb large amounts of information and distill that information to the fine points is impressive.
She is also skilled in communicating that information to the general public in an understandable way. She has handled multi million dollar budgets successfully, in her capacity of school district Superintendent. This ability and deep knowledge would be an additional critical skill for our County Council.
Kari is collaborative, as I have seen first-hand in a non profit setting. She listens and brings people in, rather than putting them off. She is not locked into a particular agenda , which allows her to both listen to, and to hear what people are saying matters to them. She looks for solutions that will work for the widest possible population.
Kari is personable, collaborative, smart and committed to doing the best job for the entire island community which she has come to call home. Isn’t she the kind of person we need to do the critical work of the Council?
