A very happy election season to the San Juan Islands! I’m writing today to express my support for an exceptional candidate for your County Council, Kari McVeigh.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Kari for many years after first meeting over our shared concern for kids and staff in public schools on the islands. I’ve found Kari to be thoughtful, kind, knowledgeable, and pragmatic – all qualities we need in a public servant.

Now, we’re lucky enough that Kari has stepped into a larger arena where – with your support – she will be able to help with complex issues affecting our singular home in the Salish Sea. I know Kari will be an advocate for the values we hold dear and will bring strong leadership on housing, transportation, the economy, public health and safety, and protecting our environment.
