||| FROM STEVE SCHRAMM |||

As a professional environmental landscaper for many years, I have represented numerous clients who are thrilled to live here and wish to enhance the natural beauty of their lands.

Unfortunately, the laws governing our critical areas and shorelines are capable of multiple interpretations.  This has caused havoc and an uproar and mistrust within our community – Professionals following the rules for many years have been shocked to be accused of violating the laws.

Projects halted – mitigation required.

Clearly this problem has to be ironed out–policies must be adopted so the rules are not so ambiguous – we need a fair playing field.

Stephanie O’Day is experienced where it counts – she uses reason and common sense to work with the clients and the county
to find solutions.  I have known her to care about the people of the San Juan Islands as well as the environment they live in.

She cares about and works hard to protect both.  I’ve appreciated her understanding, practicality and experience with mitigation projects we’ve worked on.

That’s what I’m looking for in a county commissioner.  I urge you to vote for Stephanie O’Day, District One.
