— from John Clancy —
I have the great fortune to be able to walk from my house to my job in Eastsound. Thus, I see a lot of traffic and am disturbed to report that I see people of all ages staring at their phones while driving.
Life is precious. Please let us wait to use our phones until we are done driving and keep our eyes on the road until we are safely parked. Thanks.

Hi John. What about pedestrians using phones while in crooswalks? Please warn them as well.
Thanks for your letter, John, couldn’t agree more! Good point about pedestrians too, Bruce Orchid.
Everyone using cell phones while on the road or trail: Don’t forget to look up (and engage, partake, appreciate!) what’s all around you – including the natural world, oncoming cars, pedestrians, bicyclists, and potential road kill. Please stop speeding along in a vehicle talking on your cell phone, tailgating other vehicles observing the speed limit, oblivious to the life-changing harm you may cause yourself and others.
