Dear San Juan County Neighbors,
I encourage you to vote in favor of the six San Juan County Charter amendments proposed by the Charter Review Commission.
I’m impressed with the quality of the members of the CRC and proud to have been elected to serve with them. It’s been an ambitious agenda and a lot of work, taking in and responding to the information from our constituents and county employees, identifying where there are gaps to be filled, where more energy and attention is needed, looking ahead at the next 10 years to see how we could help protect this beautiful place where we live, while providing county residents more of a voice.
I’m very pleased that the majority of CRC members support the vision that I and those who elected me share for the future health of the county. I’m confident that the six Charter amendments proposed on this year’s ballot will help our county and help to ensure that all our residents have a voice and feel safe.
I encourage you to read the statements in the Voter’s Pamphlet, and to see these articles and video:

After carefully reading the proposed Charter amendments I am convinced the changes represent the best for SJC. They pursue purposeful change rendering democracy a boost. Lucky us – to have members of the community who are willing to sacrifice their personal time to engage and present needed reforms to the voting public for consideration. If only democracy worked as well in other parts of this nation.
