— from Tony Giefer —
I have been a part of arranging an Orcas clinic affiliation with a hospital or health organization for over ten years. No matter which entity Orcas is affiliated with, a Public Hospital District is needed.
Commissioner position #4 requires the most discernment. I believe Diane Boteler is the candidate best suited for the position
Diane is a long time Orcas resident. She understands the issues of living on this island.
Diane has been a Family Physician for over 30 years. Primary care is what is provided here and she is very aware of how to do it as she has practiced medicine on Orcas as well as a number of other sites.
It is important for us to have the perspective of a physician as a commissioner and a Family Physician has unique insight to our issues.
Diane’s intelligence, vision, and fairness will serve us well. I am very grateful that Diane Boteler agreed to be a candidate.

We agree with Dr. Tony Giefer. Diane Boteler is highly qualified to be a commissioner for the Public Hospital District. She has extensive experience working as a medical doctor and administrator. Her service to the people of Orcas Island would have great value in providing excellent medical care and keeping expenses at a reasonable level. Please vote for Diane Boteler.
