||| FROM ROBERT HAMILTON |||
I congratulate Mia Kartiganer and Annalies Schuh for winning their elections as Port of Orcas Commissioners for the next four years. It is great when voters have a choice, and great that we have Orcasonians interested in serving on the various local government and co-op boards. It is a lot of work to serve on these committees, and I am grateful that we have so many people willing to do so.
I also thank Rick Fant for running in the Commissioner race. Rick has been volunteering his own time to help with the Port, including, lately, helping Commissioner Michael Triplett, Manager Kim Kimple, and others with our Noise Abatement Initiative. We look forward to continuing to work with Rick.
And finally, I want to note that Bea vonTobel is leaving the Port Commission for a well-earned retirement. Bea has served on the Commission since 2019 and also served as the Airport Manager from 2000 until 2013, during which she was instrumental in creating many airport improvements. She has brought a wealth of experience to the Commission that will be missed. If you see Bea, thank her for her many years of public service to the Orcas community.
