Thank you, once again, to YMCA Camp Orkila for sponsoring swimming lessons for Orcas Elementary Students.
This September marked the 6th year of the YMCA Camp Orkila Water Safety Week in partnership with our Elementary School.
The weather cooperated perfectly while approximately 100 first- through third-grade students participated in lessons throughout the week. They learned personal water safety, worked on mastery of swimming fundamentals, built stroke technique, and practiced boating/lifejacket skills.
Students even got to share their new found skills with their whole families at the community swim event on Wednesday night.
