The Board of Trustees and staff of the Orcas Island Public Library wish to thank the Orcas community for their resounding support, reflected in the “YES” vote for the Library levy lid lift approved via Tuesday’s ballot.

“We are so proud of our community for supporting the Library through the levy lift. It gives us great flexibility as we complete the final piece of our financing package for the expanded Library. The levy lift also ensures that we can continue to deliver the high quality library programs and services that Orcas Islanders so clearly value. We are so grateful for the amazing support we receive from our generous and passionate library users, volunteers, donors, staff and the community as a whole.” said Tom Fiscus, Chair of the Library Board of Trustees.

The Orcas Library is consistently among Washington’s highest-ranked libraries, in terms of per-capita visits, cardholders, checkouts and collection size. The Library expansion project is well underway, on schedule and on budget. We look forward to dedicating the new library wing in early summer 2017.
