My name is Jeff Asher and I proudly support Ron Krebs as our next Sheriff of San Juan County.
I have served the San Juan community for 29 years working various positions within the Sheriff’s Office.
As one of the senior officers, I am firmly aware that it takes a special person to work as a Sheriff in a small community. Ron Krebs shares this understanding and is prepared to lead this department forward, restoring it to a healthy and effective community police force.
Communication skills and abilities are an absolute must for the job of Sheriff. I have worked closely with Ron on many cases and community functions, witnessing firsthand his work ethics. Ron responds quickly to emails and calls from coworkers and the public. The results of his clear and timely communications make all the difference in deescalating situations. A strong community foundation and working knowledge of the citizens is crucial to a Sheriff’s success. We tailor how we operate to this small place we all call home. What Ron brings to this community has been gained through extensive involvement in this community and the culture passed to him from his relatives that were here since the roads were dirt in the 1950’s. The position of Sheriff requires that the office function as a business. Ron has experienced great success in the private sector. He has the knowledge and skills to deliver a successful budget every year and he will always pay special respect to the fact that you and I pay for this department.
