Food Masters presents “Seed-Saving Why It Matters and How To Do It” on Sunday August 21 from noon to 4 p.m. at the West Sound Community Hall.

Food Masters’ organizer Learner Limbach says, “Seed saving season is upon us. Find out why more and more people are beginning to grow and save their own seed crops. Join us for an informative class this Sunday. Many topics will be covered and there will be a hands on portion, working with this years seed crops just harvested. Bring your seed saving questions!”

A donation of $20 is suggested.Proceeds go toward the creation of an Island Seed Bank.

The class will be led by seed enthusiast and experienced plant breeder Dan Borman. Other teachers include seasoned seed savers Ronda Jones and Alice Swan, as well as Rhonda Barbierri of La Campesina, bringing seed just harvested from her farm!
