Osmia lignaria, the mason bee, is an important early season pollinator of fruit trees in our cool coastal climate.
The Master Gardeners of San Juan County will hold a free workshop on this orchard bee, open to the public on March 4 at 1:30 p.m. in the Orcas Library Community Room.
In addition to the display of bee nesting materials there will be children’s books about mason bees.
