From the OPAL Community Land Trust
Endurance, perseverance and tenacity: The sale is complete. OPAL (Of People and the Land) Community Land Trust is delighted to announce that the Lavender Hollow Apartments have joined our family of housing options.
Ownership of the 22 units on Orion Lane and Enchanted Forest Road in Eastsound transferred to OPAL on May 26. OPAL intends to continue renting the apartments to serve the same very low income household population that has been served by the dwellings for the past 18 years.
The individual apartments will be renovated in the fall to improve energy efficiency.
OPAL’s trustees and executive director Lisa Byers thanks Wally Gudgell and his partners for their commitment to the Orcas community to provide housing for very low income earners as well as their resolve to see the sales process through to completion.
